Striving & Thriving in the Academic World - A One Day Retreat

Junior Faculty were invited to a one day retreat sponsored by the Chancellor's Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (CACSW), Academic Affairs, Faculty Development and Advancement, and  the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Dentistry.

Dr. Mary Ann Mason, first woman Dean of the Graduate Division at UC Berkeley, with responsibility for nearly 10,000 students in more than 100 graduate programs ,   will speak on her recently published book entitled, Mothers on the Fast Track: How a New Generation Can Balance Family and Careers. During her tenure, she championed diversity in the graduate student population, promoted equity for student parents, and pioneered measures to enhance the career/life balance for all students. The retreat will also provide an opportunity to learn about navigating the academic promotion and advancement process from senior UCSF academic leaders, network with senior faculty who can answer your career questions and provide you with mentorship in the future, and hear how senior faculty have dealt with balancing work-life issues at UCSF.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Claire Brindis at Claire.Brindis@ucsf.edu, co-Chair of CACSW.
