Message from the chair of the Chancellor's Advisory Committee on the Status of Women
The Chancellor's Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (CACSW) is proud to host this website, which provides access to a multitude of campus, local and national resources for women students, staff, and faculty. Information is readily available on critical issues such as childcare and eldercare, benefits, and student, staff and faculty development and mentoring. With increasing numbers of women entering all of the professional schools here at UCSF, accessibility of information for programs to mentor and support women is needed. This website will provide information and links to help meet those needs.

Your feedback is important to us - please let us know if you have suggestions to make this website more useful to women at UCSF.

Elizabeth M. Ozer, Ph.D.
CACSW Chair, 2008-2009

CACSW's Role
CACSW has existed since 1981 and is appointed each year by the Chancellor with the charge to examine the issues regarding the status of women on this campus. In keeping with the Chancellor's policy to obtain input from a wide spectrum of UCSF faculty and staff, students and postdoctoral scholars, committee appointments are generally limited to two years. If you are interested in becoming a member or would like additional information, please contact Maria Blandizzi.

The charge of the CACSW is to examine the issues regarding the status of women at UCSF (excluding those involving wages, hours, or working conditions); to analyze existing policies, procedures, and/or programs that affect those issues; to serve as a coordinating body for groups or individuals concerned with the status of women at UCSF; and to recommend to the Chancellor changes that will continue to afford women equal and fair access to campus programs and activities.
